History and philosophy

Since it was established in 1969, Groupe LSR has been operating as a real estate builder, promoter, owner and property manager, while focusing its development on multiple large-scale projects involving single-family homes, condominium towers, rental properties and senior centres, as well as corporate space management. Over the years, the company has expanded the scope of its activities throughout Canada, the Unites States and Poland.

Since its inception, the group has undergone a growth punctuated with major achievements. Indeed, the first twenty years saw the Company build and acquire rental properties, while from early 2000, a series of real estate development projects, in Quebec as well as in the United States, saw the company increase its real estate holdings. However, while analyzing its overall activities, one thing became very clear; the need for the company to implement a market study, ahead of any new project. Over and above the statistically reliable image the company projects, this approach would enable the company to keep one step ahead of any business cycle fluctuations, thereby substantially reducing the notion of risk inherent in any new project.

Through careful management and financial soundness, the company pursues its growth stride while adapting its business offers to constantly changing market requirements in order to better understand and take opportunities at hand.

In that respect, Groupe LSR began a diverse business expansion in the realm of facility and property management which included, among other things, prestigious office towers located in downtown Montreal. Soon after, the company carved itself a prominent place in the industry by offering competitive and controlled operating costs, superior customer service and a structured maintenance plan which helped extend the sustainability of its customers’ real estate holdings. As evidence of its expertise, Groupe LSR earned several major nominations, namely for environmental achievements, some of which were awarded for the first time to a Quebec business enterprise.

On a different level, the company is now recognized for its achievements in a different field, that of the health sector. In 2004, because of an aging population, Groupe LSR began developing and purchasing various establishments offering health care services to the elderly with diminished abilities, in major cities across Quebec. This business sector has been engaged in major project achievements and will ultimately be called upon to play a major role in the development of our society.

Furthermore, over the last decades, the company has acquired major rental housing stock including more than 1,700 rental units, south of the border, in Houston, Texas. As well, since 2008, the company has expanded its real estate holdings to Boca Raton and Orlando in Florida. The company portfolio now encompasses more than 2,300 units throughout the United States.

Lastly, despite constantly changing economic conditions, Groupe LSR has proven its ability to develop new leveraging tools set to help the company portfolio further grow as well as to respect its core philosophy all along these years. Indeed, for Group LSR its development does not solely relies on profitability but as well on well- defined values such as: team spirit and integrity. And undeniably these principles have influenced its evolution for more than 40 years.
